Devil May Cry 5 is the peak of the character action genre, delivering three distinct playable characters whose combat systems are each deep enough to carry a standalone game. The RE Engine delivers stunning visuals, the boss fights are exceptional, and the style ranking system rewards creative play in ways that make replaying missions genuinely exciting. The story serves its purpose without standing out, and the level design takes a back seat to the combat. But when the combat is this good, that trade-off is easy to accept.

The writing is sharp, the mysteries are satisfying to unravel, and the emotional beats hit harder than you'd expect from a game about yelling 'Objection!' at cartoon witnesses. The investigation segments drag compared to the trials, and the touch interface for evidence presentation could be smoother. But three full games with dozens of hours of content, memorable characters, and some of the best comedic writing in gaming history make this an easy recommendation for anyone who reads and enjoys a good mystery.

The Sunbreak expansion rounds out the endgame substantially. The base game's content felt thin at launch, and the village quest difficulty is too low for experienced hunters, but the core gameplay loop remains one of the most satisfying in action gaming.

It's a genuine piece of Street Fighter on your phone, not a watered-down imitation.

Resident Evil 3 Remake delivers a polished, thrilling ride through Raccoon City with excellent character work for Jill and Carlos and some of the series' best action gameplay. It also ends before it feels like it's properly started, and the Nemesis never becomes the unpredictable force that defined the original. As a standalone action horror game it's a blast, but the shadow of both its predecessor and its companion RE2 Remake looms large over everything it does.

Resident Evil Village on mobile is the handsome opening exhibit of premium mobile's great experiment, Capcom's full first-person horror hit delivered uncompromised to recent Apple hardware. The technical achievement startled everyone and the sales startled nobody, touch controls barely serviceable for a game built on aiming under pressure, console pricing colliding with storefront psychology, and the real audience narrowing to controller-owning enthusiasts. On the right setup it truly delivers, dollhouse chapter and all. The market's verdict on the category arrived faster than the werewolves.
