2025 · Bong Joon Ho · 137 min · Sci-Fi / Comedy
Mickey 17 gives Robert Pattinson the role of a lifetime seventeen times over, playing a disposable colony worker who gets reprinted every time he dies, and Pattinson responds with two of the funniest, saddest performances of his career in one film. Bong Joon Ho's first movie since his Oscar sweep is stuffed with ideas about labor, class, and what a person is worth when he's technically replaceable. It's also baggy, tonally scattered, and saddled with a villain played so broadly the satire loses its edge. A fascinating, frustrating film that most viewers are glad exists and few call his best.
