Battlefield 6 is the apology the franchise owed, a back-to-basics reconstruction that restores classes, squads, dog tags, and buildings that come down around your ears, delivered after a predecessor that nearly killed the brand. The all-out-warfare loop lands at full strength, sixty-four players, collapsing facades, tank shells changing the map's geometry mid-round, and the launch became EA's biggest, buoyed by open betas that rebuilt trust in public. Its campaign is a forgettable escort mission for the multiplayer, map consensus runs hot and cold, and the live-service grind arithmetic drew week-one revolts. The franchise sound, that rolling thunder of everything at once, is unmistakably back.

Titanfall arrived in 2014 as the most kinetic thing the shooter genre had seen, wall-running pilots calling twenty-foot war machines down from orbit mid-firefight, built by the exiled architects of Call of Duty's golden era. Its movement rewrote an entire genre's expectations and its pilot-titan rhythm remains one of the great multiplayer loops. It also shipped multiplayer-only with a campaign stapled into lobbies, and a decade of delisting and dwindling servers turned a landmark into a memory its sequel had to vindicate. Reviewed as history, it's foundational. Purchased today, it's a museum with the lights half on.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a bigger, more ambitious sequel that delivers creative level design and an impressive variety of plants and zombies, but wraps it all in a free-to-play structure that frequently undermines the fun. The time-travel concept keeps each world feeling distinct, the plant food system adds genuine strategic options, and there's more content here than most mobile games dream of. The monetization model is the elephant in the room, though. If you can tolerate the friction and avoid the spending prompts, there's a great tower defense game buried under the business model. If aggressive in-app purchases ruin your enjoyment, the original game remains the cleaner experience.
